We’re delighted to welcome you to the new HyFlex Academy website: a new front door built to give families, carers, local authorities and anyone curious about who we are a genuine sense of the place before they ever step inside it.
A school like ours is difficult to sum up in a leaflet or a single page of text. So we didn’t try. We wanted a website that reflected what actually happens here: small by design, personal by principle, ambitious by choice. Not a wall of facilities and figures, but our size, our approach, and the people who make it work. That’s what we’ve built.
What you’ll find
About tells our story honestly: HyFlex Academy by The Greenhouse didn’t start with a business plan, it grew chapter by chapter, from an online platform, to a tutoring service, to a full provision, because content and tutoring alone were never quite enough. You’ll meet the small team who lead it, and the four things we won’t compromise on, however flexible everything else is.
Curriculum sets out how we teach: a full framework for our 11–16 learners across six areas, from English and Maths to Digital Skills and Movement & Wellbeing, and a post-16 pathway built around employability, life skills and real accreditation through City & Guilds, ASDAN and NCFE. Stage, not age. It’s a framework, not a formula, shaped around each young person’s individual education plan.
Outreach is its own service, and it deserves to be treated as one. It’s our graduated, three-tier model for local authorities and schools: Tier 1 Prevent and Tier 2 Stabilise are delivered in a young person’s own school and community, before things escalate to a full alternative provision; Tier 3 Progress is where HyFlex Academy itself takes over, for young people whose needs go beyond what outreach alone can hold. One framework, one accountable pathway, evidence tracked from referral to exit.
British Values and Policies are there for the local authorities, social workers and professionals who need to see, clearly and honestly, how we operate.
News & Stories is where we’ll share what’s genuinely happening at HyFlex Academy: new faces joining the team, first GCSE entries, outdoor learning in the Welsh hills, the quiet wins and everyday moments that, for our community, are always worth pausing to mark. Expect it to grow fast, because there’s already a lot going on.

Built to actually work, on whatever’s in your hand
The design itself has had as much thought as the words. It’s clean, uncluttered and quick to load, built mobile-first because we know most people find us from a phone in a waiting room, a car park or a corridor between meetings, not sat at a desk. Navigation is short and honest: seven pages, clearly labelled, nothing buried three clicks deep. No jargon walls, just a straightforward, well-organised site that gets you to the answer you came for.
Built for the people who need it most
We know that visiting our website might be someone’s very first contact with HyFlex Academy, often at a difficult or uncertain moment for a young person and their family, sometimes after mainstream has already tried and failed. We’ve tried to make sure that first contact feels like an honest reflection of who we are: warm, straightforward, and genuinely open, engagement first, always.
And we know a website is never really finished. As our learners settle in and move on, as our team grows, and as we rack up more stories worth telling, you’ll see this site grow and change right alongside us.
